Content Marketing Manager

The Content Marketing Manager is responsible for overseeing the content marketing resources and delivering engaging, entertaining and informative content across all relevant channels. As an expert storyteller, the incumbent guides the strategy, planning and execution of master brand and category level content that builds brand love, trust and engagement for London Drugs. This role is also the voice of London Drugs in social media channels, guiding the audience experience, community engagement and building a robust following.
The Content Marketing Manager will concurrently build channel performance for Social Media (e.g. Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, Pinterest) brand communications (e.g. blogs, email), and custom content publications while building a robust multi-channel content plan for the master brand and priority category segments such as, but not limited to Pharmacy, Beauty and Photography.
The ideal candidate is motivated by collaboration, able to work with subject matter experts from within Marketing team and across a diverse group of business stakeholders who are technical experts in their scope of responsibility. With attention to detail, the incumbent works within the brand guidelines in order to grow London Drug’s online presence and audiences through authentic stories of who we are, what we do and what we stand for.
The Content Marketing Manager will coach and mentor the internal content team, leverage the shared marketing services team and build a network of third-party contributors to meet the mandate of this role. They will oversee the research and develop inspiring content, staying abreast of audience trends and competitive activity.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Monitor effectiveness of content at a strategic, channel and individual asset perspective, making adjustments as appropriate.
- Lead the content marketing Calander planning, working with collaborative across the business for cross-channel ideation.
- Work with MarTech team for paid amplification to achieve objectives.
- Drive for a consistent brand voice, tone and visual identity.
- Manage moderation and collaborate with customer care and online sales to address social/blog comments, complaints, and inquiries.
- Strong leadership skills, with an emphasis on managing all individuals within a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong writing and editing for all forms of content, including short and long form.
- Drives for and adapts easily to change.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
- Sound judgment and ability to effectively problem solve as required.
- Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure.
- Highly organized and able to multitask effectively and work under changing priorities.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to senior managers, executives, and other employees of the organization.
- Deep understanding of Content Marketing and Social Media
- Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Marketing, Communications or related field or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with the stages of publication development from conducting independent research and interviewing subject matter experts, to advising on presentation and collaborating with authors, designers, and production and marketing teams.
- Creative thinker with previous experience in writing, editing and proofreading, as well as interviewing subject matter experts and members of the public in order to develop personal stories.
- Experience providing guidance on voice and tone and in-house editorial standards to support organization’s brand and message for a range of channels
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Portfolio of relevant writing/project samples.
- Retail Marketing experience an asset.
